About Hope Walks
Hope Walks began with a passion to raise awareness of the growing number of children and orphans affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Hope Walks is an educational and fund raising walk that provides an opportunity for children, their families and friends to make a difference in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children worldwide.
Hope Walks provides educational materials,
the knowledge and know-how to organize and
conduct the walk event, a local website, online
registration, and promotional templates. For
each event, Hope Walks works with a Partner
Organization, such as a church or a community
based group, which can provide additional
resources such as the volunteers, promotion,
the site for the walk, enthusiasm, and
opportunities for children and their families
and friends to learn and participate.
Hope Walks and the Partner Organization
together select the beneficiary of the walk
which will directly provide for the needs of
orphans and vulnerable children including
basic food, shelter, education, HIV testing and
drug treatment, and vital healthcare. Hope
Walks benefits faith based and non-government
agencies in resource poor countries that have
difficulty in accessing funds.
The proceeds of the walk are divided between
the chosen beneficiary organization to provide
for the basic care of orphans and vulnerable
children and Global Strategies for HIV
Prevention to facilitate health education,
training, and treatment for children with the
most urgent health care needs.
Hope Walks is a program of Global Strategies for HIV Prevention 501 (c) 3. The mission of Global Strategies for HIV Prevention is to implement international strategies to prevent HIV infection by means of strategic alliances with those who share in a compassion for alleviating the suffering of women and children. Our programs include Save a Life, HIV/AIDS Education and Training, and additional innovative programs that are responsive to the needs of our partners. A recent program Hope Quilts has also been launched that brings much needed comfort and connection to women whi have suffered violent trauma in the Congo.
